On Monday 5th February, the Sylvans debated the motion ‘This House is of the opinion that there should be a new, ring-fenced tax specifically to fund the NHS and social care.’
The debate was proposed by Ina Negoita and opposed by Lissi Corfield.
It was an excellent Sylvan debate, with all aspects of the topic examined by the main and floor speakers, including in a second round of two-minute floor speeches.
The final vote saw the motion defeated.
